Hatha Yoga

The term Hatha is derived from the Sanskrit ha, meaning "sun," (masculine energy) and tha, meaning "moon," (feminine energy) leading to the common interpretation that Hatha practices are designed to unite and balance these two energies.

The term Yoga means to ‘yoke’ or to unite. The practice of yoga aims to sync the mind and body with breath and movement. Thus, Hatha Yoga is the practice of bringing balance to the body, mind and spirit through the use of movement and breath.

The focus of my Hatha practice is on structural alignment and controlling the breath, or pranayama, uniting movement with deep breathing. This permits the release of held tensions while allowing time to address the "monkey mind". When we allow ourselves the time to slow down and tune into our bodies and breath we can find balance, strength and steadiness unlocking the body's natural flow.
This practice is 60 - 90 minutes, suited for all levels and is great for building physical strength and flexibility as well as self compassion and resiliency. Can be done privately or you can create your own small group (up to 10 people).

Integrative Yoga

Integrative Yoga is a deeper version of the Hatha practice using props to support longer holding of postures for deeper release. Integrative Yoga is based in the Amrit Institute’s Integrative Amrit Method (or I AM™) Yoga Body Psychology. Many compare this method with Yin or Restorative yoga, however, in the I AM™ method your mental and emotional bodies are supported with gentle, loving coaching as they release and let go.
The holding of postures can initiate deep release in the body which can prompt emotional or mental release as well. Specific facilitated coaching helps to support the emotional and mental bodies through these releases freeing them from the body and allowing greater range of motion, flexibility and clarity of body, mind and soul.

Integrative Yoga will awaken your body and soul by releasing and relaxing tension, constriction and mental/emotional blocks initiating a deeper awareness and understanding of the mind/body connection.
This practice is 90 minutes and can provide pain relief, increased range of motion, circulation, and mental clarity as well as assist to break old patterns. No prior yoga experience is necessary.
I AM Yoga Nidra™

Integrative Amrit Method, or I AM Yoga Nidra™ is a sleep-based, guided meditation style that can calm and relax the nervous system relieving stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, PTSD, depression and provide many other benefits including boosting the immune system.

The I AM Yoga Nidra™ method is known as the "deep one" for its ability to initiate a deep state of relaxation quickly, taking the practitioner from high beta brainwaves (waking, thinking, functioning) through alpha brainwaves to theta brainwaves which are equivalent to the space just before falling asleep. Here the brain can shut off and the body gets to relax deeply. It is in this deep state that the body releases natural, healing hormones such as serotonin, melatonin, and human growth hormone among many others. Studies have shown that one 45 minute I AM Yoga Nidra™ practice is equivalent to 3 hours of sleep.
This practice is 60 minutes and can provide such benefits as deep relaxation and calmness while countering the effects of insomnia, stress, anxiety and many other health disorders. No prior meditation experience is necessary and can be done individually or with a small group.
